Program Mission
Rapid advancements in technology, dynamic markets, and the changing global business environment have created increased demand for professionals who can lead, manage, and deliver information and communications technology (ICT) systems . This demand has been accelerated by increased and new competition, shorter product life cycles, cost pressures, and the convergence of technologies for communications. ICT professionals are required to lead and evolve technology-based resources to deliver business value.
The Telecommunications Management program at Stevens addresses the increasingly demanding requirements of the communications industry and businesses for people with technical expertise combined with business skills.
The program's goal is to provide students with advanced technical knowledge of applied communications integrated with a solid grounding in business management techniques. This program is designed for students and communications industry professionals seeking to advance their careers, for business professionals looking for ways to leverage their communications resources for enabling their business, and for academics preparing for the challenges of research and teaching. The courses are designed to establish a fine balance between academic fundamentals and industry realities and requirements. In addition to strong practical, real-world telecommunications and management skills, graduates of the program leave with improved communication, interpersonal, and team skills.

Weekend Program
You have a choice with on-campus classes between a Weeknight or a Weekend Masters of Telecommunications Management Program.
The Weekend Telecommunications Management program is specifically designed to serve the needs of busy professionals who wish to achieve career advancements in the rapidly growing Telecommunications Industry but cannot devote time to graduate studies during the work week.
Saturday classes are available in a trimester sequence. TM can provide the successful student with a Master of Science degree in Telecommunications Management, in less than two years - approximately twenty-one months.
Ph.D. in Telecommunications Management
Students who wish to continue beyond their Masters degree may pursue a Ph.D. in Telecommunications Management.
Degree Options
Students complete 7 required core courses and 5 electives for the MS degree. The electives maybe chosen from 2 broad tracks or within an area of concentration. Students declare either an elective track or a concentration. Following are the MSTM concentrations :
Degree requirements and Duration
- Twelve courses (36 credits) are required.
- Typically full-time students complete the program in one or two years; part-time students in two or three years.
